Providing a structural model for predicting symptoms of practical obsessive compulsive disorder based on religious adherence: the mediating role of personality function

Introduction: Obsessive-compulsive disorder is a clinical syndrome, characterized by disturbing and intrusive thoughts, images, or impulses repetitive behaviors. Aim: This study aimed to present structural model for predicting the symptoms of obsessivecompulsive based on religious adherence commitment evaluate mediating role personality function. Method: was descriptive correlational performed equation. The statistical population consisted people referred clinics in districts 1, 2, 7, 8, 11, 12 Tehran, Iran, during 2020-2021. A total 378 volunteers were considered eligible inclusion criteria. data collection tools included Hodgson Rachman’s Obsessive- Compulsive Disorder Questionnaire (1977), Janbozorgi’s Religious Faith (2009) Personality Function Janbozorgi & et al (2021). Data analysis SPSS-28 LISREL-8.5, using path AMOS-24, as well equation modeling. Results: Square correlations (R2) obsessive-compulsive 0.53; therefore, domains function could explain 53% variance disorder. Conclusion: mediated relationship between lack ambivalence positively significant negative way. It recommended that counseling centers pay attention clients' dysfunctional beliefs treatment
